Yesterday was cancer night all the students that were in biology class who are freshman participated to create a clay project that would be functional for a fundraiser of cancer. Three to four students were in a group and were assigned a type of cancer. As an individual you were assigned different tasks of research for your type of cancer. My group did brain cancer. I’m proud of my group because we worked so hard on our trifold and we accomplished what we wanted. I personally was honored to do this project because I have passed through brain cancer, and I’m happy that I’m still here sharing the story with others and having love and support from my family, and others. Today I’d like to share some of the moments that happened yesterday on February 17,2015 during cancer night on Tuesday.
Last night everyone was nervous and excited because none of us had ever done such a huge presentation like this. Having the opportunity to present something for a useful cause made u proud, honored, and confident of what we were doing. The event started at 5:30 and we were all nervous, excited, and ready to present. Honestly the first presentation we gave was terrible because I was nervous and I didn’t know what to say. In the second presentation I was confident and everything went well because I knew what I was saying and I’m so happy that everything went well. I’m glad that I was able to learn more about the cancer I had and how the healthy cell division functions, and I also learned about art by creating a clay product. From this experience I’d like to give project feedback to my facilitators. We all know that student’s love to talk all day during class, but sometimes you need to remind them about the class rules, and about being responsible and respectful. So what I’m trying to say is that you need to have patience with the student’s and let them know if they have any problems,or questions. I think that as facilitators you need to be more organized and prepared for class everyday. Also remind student’s about being responsible and completing their work on time.
Im glad that the trimester is ending pretty soon, and I have experienced what high school is in my first year as a freshmen. I’m proud of myself because I have put lots of effort into my work and I have worked very hard in each class. Even though I worked so hard to accomplish what I wanted I also had some struggles. In BioArt class I understood and knew everything about science related, but I had difficulties and struggles with the kingdom sketches. I found ways to improve by practicing on my drawing and shading. I had a great time in BioArt and I wouldn’t change anything at all because everything is just right. I just want to wish my teachers a good year, thanks for giving us great advice, helping us everyday, tolerating are behavior everyday, and for being great facilitators!!!
